The Scientific Committee of the World Federation of Neuroscience Nurses (WFNN) hereby invites all interested parties in submitting the scientific papers (abstracts) for the 12th Quadrennial Congress " Neuroscience Clinical Excellence".

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

By submitting an abstract, you agree to the following points if the abstract is accepted:

  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstracts will be BLINDED and reviewed by the 6-member WFNN Scientific Committee.
  • Any incomplete abstracts will be disqualified.
  • Please use APA Referencing format.
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure (COI) forms must be completed for the main presenter, speakers, and co-authors prior to submission. Please download COI form here and sent it filled out to wfnnvicepresident@gmail.com.
  • All conference registration, travel, and hotel costs are to be paid by the speaker(s).
  • The abstract title, speaker information (including credentials) and abstract descriptions will appear in all conference materials exactly as submitted.
  • The main presenter contact will be responsible for meeting all deadlines and requirements regarding the abstract. Failure to meet deadlines and requirements will result in the withdrawal of Continuing Education  (CE) credits for the session.

**Please note that by submitting an abstract for the 12th WFNN Congress, you are acknowledging that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to accept your abstract as a different presentation format than originally submitted.

SESSION (PAPER/POSTER) PRESENTATION FORMATS:

  • Concurrent 1- hour session:
    • A 1 hour presentation of a topic that consists of lecture/discussions.
  • Concurrent 30 – minute session (Education or Research)
    • A 30 minute presentation of a topic that consists of lecture/discussions or a completed research project presented clearly and clinically significant.
  • Important!
    Poster: (Size: 53'x37' or 135cmx95cm at most, vertical layout/Portrait)

    Example
    • Presenters are assigned specific times to stand by their poster and answer questions posed by passing colleagues during the conference.
    • Posters will be displayed for the entire length of the Congress from 17th September until 21st September. Sticky dots will be provided by the venue for you to hang your poster. It is your responsibility to hang your poster on Sunday 17th September and remove your poster by 3pm Thursday 21st September.
    • In the unlikely event of more posters than anticipated, some posters may be displayed electronically. If this is the case, you will be notified of this prior to the event.

**Please note that final decisions on submission format and time frames are at the discretion of the WFNN Scientific Committee**

SESSION PRESENTATION FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

  • The purpose of the session is clearly stated.
  • The title clearly reflects the abstract and is of interest.
  • The abstract text reflects a neuroscience topic that is cutting edge, innovative, of high interest, and defines the purpose of the presentation.
  • The objectives must reflect the abstract content and are measurable, clear, and concise.
  • The bibliography is specifically targeted to the topic and is current within 5 years.
  • The presenter's clinical experience is clearly stated and relevant to the topic.
  • The presenter's previous speaking on a local, regional, or national level is considered; however this should NOT discourage first time presenters.

PRESENTER TITLES

  • Main Presenter: Is the main presenter of a submitted abstract and will attend the meeting and present the topic.
  • Poster Presenter: Is the main poster presenter of a submitted abstract and will attend the meeting, set up and present the poster.
  • Speaker(s): Are individuals who will be attending the meeting and will be presenting after the main presenter.
  • Co- Author(s): Are individuals who contribute data, educational planning, or research towards the submitted abstract but, will not be attending the meeting.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The abstract submission deadline for the Congress has been extended to close on March 1st, 2017.
  • Review and Selection: Each abstract will be evaluated through a blinded, peer review process by members of the Scientific Committee. Notification of abstract selection or non-selection will be made by the first week of April, 2017.

The final Program will be released 17th June, 2017.

Registration fees are non-refundable. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # 16398, for 24.5 Contact Hours of independent study. Training document must be retained by the participant for 4 years. Participant must complete post congress survey to receive credit.
